Iloilo cop nabbed for gunning down civilian in drunken argument

PO3 Artemio Sayam is in hot water for allegedly gunning down a civilian with whom he had an argument following a drinking spree last Sunday evening.
Sayam killed Ruben Puyo, 22, at a food court in Lambunao town in Iloilo province, radio dzBB Iloilo’s Melanie Ferrer reported Tuesday. Puyo was shot in the chest.
Sayam, who is assigned to the Philippine National Police's Western Visayas Regional Services Group, now faces administrative and criminal charges.
Empty 9-mm. casings were recovered from the crime scene. Sayam was divested of his 9-mm. pistol by police authorities.
Regional director and former PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. vowed that there will be no special treatment for Sayam. — DVM/KG, GMA News
