Prosthetic legs, shark, and other strange things people leave in hotels
In today's fast-paced world, people in a rush are bound to leave behind some personal belongings in hotel rooms.
Aside from common small items like a comb or a handkerchief, the news site Huffington Post said erotic novels, adult toys, and even underwear were some of the common things people leave in hotels.
However, Huffington Post said there were borderline strange items that people leave behind:
(1) $6,000 cold, hard, cash
If someone saw a bag stuffed to the brim with cash, many might keep it to themselves and say: “Finders keepers.”
This is not what Miami International Airport Hotel housekeeper Jeanne Mydil, a mother of three, did.
She was honest enough to surrender the sum to her supervisor who in turn returned the amount to a missionary group.

(2) Prosthetic legs
If your body parts could be attached and de-attached anytime, do you think you could leave your legs?
Imagine the shock of a hotel staff member from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Quebec when she found a prosthetic limb stashed under the bed of the room she was cleaning.
(3) A shark
Leaving a pet inside a hotel room is one thing. But leaving a shark in the hotel bathtub – freely swimming in tap water at that – is another.
This was the "surprise" left to hotel staff cleaners by a guest at the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura in Algarve.
Apparently, the guest caught the shark during a fishing session and decided to place it in the bathtub with tap water.
The shark was then returned to the seas.
(4) Marijuana
A bag of weed was found at Opus Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia which quickly sparked interest and speculation.
The General Manager of the hotel, Nicholas Gandossi was quoted by Huffington Post in an interview saying: “We reflected on who might have stored it there and whether a guest had stashed it for his next trip.”
(5) A show horse
If the shark wasn’t strange enough, imagine having a bucking bronco left behind at a hotel.
The horse wasn’t really left inside a room in the Driotwich hotel in the United Kingdom but was found in the parking lot outside.
It’s just strange how the owners forgot their still-alive-and-kicking horse.
(6) Dentures
Say cheese!
It may sound ridiculous to leave behind one's false teeth but it did really happen at the Eurostars Grand Marina GL in Barcelona, Spain.
The owner later called and requested the hotel to ship the dentures back to him in the UK.
More strange things
Meanwhile, the news site Telegraph Co. also cited in an article some of the strange things people leave in hotels:
(1) A corpse
Talk about freaky.
For three days, an 83-year-old hotel maid at the Hawlty Towers was providing room cleaning services for a man.
She only realized during her third visit that the man she was cleaning for was actually, you guessed that right – a human corpse.
(2) Luxury car keys
If you drive into a hotel in a luxury car, you’re expected to leave the same hotel with that same car.
This is not the case when a man left the car keys to his Porsche 911.
Whether he realized it or not, the owner didn't leave the hotel in his $100,000 car.
(3) Ashes
An urn with the ashes of a guest’s mother-in-law was once left behind in a hotel.
The urn must have blended perfectly with the hotel furnishings which is why it wasn’t noticed. - Andrei Medina, VVP, GMA News
