LRT's no-smoking policy extends to e-cigarettes
Sorry, e-smokers. The no-smoking policy of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) also applies to you.
LRT Authority spokesman Hernando Cabrera said this amid questions from LRT riders on whether e-cigarettes, nicotine-fee alternatives to the real thing, are allowed.
"For those asking, e-cigarette smoking is prohibited in all LRT-1 and 2 trains and stations," Cabrera said in a post on his Twitter account.
Many smokers are turning to e-cigarettes to help them quit their smoking habit.
The e-cigarettes simulate the act of smoking and are often sold as an aid to kick the smoking habit.
The LRT-1 links Roosevelt Avenue in Quezon City to Baclaran in southern Metro Manila.
On the other hand, the LRT-2 links C.M. Recto Avenue in Manila to Santolan in Pasig. –KG, GMA News
