Nomination for model OFW family ends Sept. 21
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is searching for the next model overseas Filipino worker’s (OFW) family that practices laudable Filipino family traditions in modern times.
The mother or father must be an OFW for the family to be eligible for nomination.
The deadline for submission on nominees for the 8th Model Overseas Filipino Worker’s Family of the Year Award (MOFYA) is on September 21, 2012.
“MOFYA recognizes and honors OFWs and their families who have demonstrated financial gains and stability such as successful business undertakings, strong family relations, and positive impact in the community despite the absence of the OFW family member,” OWWA said in a statement.
A national winner for the land-and sea-based OFWs will be picked from the 17 regional winners. The regional awarding is scheduled on October 12, 2012.
Two other awards — such as the Outstanding Achievement in Community Projects and Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship — will also be granted.
