September 20, 2012 11:35am
Buoyed by output from its Cebu-based mining unit, Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corp. on Thursday said it made P1.611 billion in net income during the second quarter – up 58 percent from P1.018 billion a year earlier.

Subsidiary Carmen Copper Corp. boosted parent Atlas Consolidated’s bottom line, driven by higher output that overcame depressed copper prices and higher operating costs, Atlas Consolidated revealed in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Atlas Consolidated – whose shares closed at P17.46 apiece on Wednesday – has a market capitalization of P36.187 billion and a 43.23 percent public float level, according to latest PSE data. — MJC/VS, GMA News
