Southwoods nails back-to-back titles in PAL ladies interclub

Manila Southwoods defended its crown at the expense of Del Monte for the second straight time to claim the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Ladies Interclub championship held at the Iloilo Golf Club in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

Southwoods wound up with a total of 520 points to Del Monte's 497 in the seventh edition of the tournament revived by Philippine Airlines (PAL) last year.

Mia Legaspi top scored for Southwoods with 51 points via the Stableford format, while Sunshine Baraquiel and tenner Annilka Cedo chipped in 48 and 43, respectively, for the day's score of 142.

Del Monte, the runner up for the second straight time, was led by Apple Fudolin's 44, Eva Minoza's 43, and 13-year-old Rainstar Roque's 35 for a 125 final round.

Cebu fired 462 points after a 121 to triumph over Alabang (113-432) in the Founders division, Tagaytay Highlands (108-434) routed Australia (117-376), and Apo Golf (80-360) scooted past Camp Aguinaldo (99-349). - RAF, GMA News
