Malaysia's state-run news agency Bernama said Judge Abdul Alim Abdullah sentenced Marivelle Gonzales, 31, to the gallows after finding her guilty of drug trafficking.

Gonzales was caught with 927 grams of heroin and 117 grams of monoacetylmorphines at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal in Sepang on March 28, 2010.

In her defense, Gonzales said a man named Joe offered her $1,000, a Malaysian work permit and $250 in pocket money to carry the bag where authorities found the drugs.

However, the judge deemed that Gonzales’ defense fails to raise reasonable doubt.

The judge noted as well Gonzales' "cautioned statement" to the police, which contradicted her testimony in court.

Finally, the judge pointed out that Gonzales agreed during the trial that the police had no motive to entrap her. — DVM, GMA news
