Pacquiao-Marquez IV sells 13,000 tickets on opening weekend
Are people tired of Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez? Apparently not, as Top Rank Promotions announced Monday (Tuesday, PHL time) that over 13,000 tickets for the fight had been sold on opening weekend.
Such sales would make the fourth fight between these two boxers "the biggest seller" of their quadrilogy, according to a press release by Top Rank.
"We are ecstatic with the response," said CEO Bob Arum, who also noted that less than 3,000 tickets remain for the fight that will be held on December 8 (December 9, PHL time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Filipino congressman and his Mexican opponent have fought three times over nine years. After a draw during their first bout, the two fought again in 2008, with Pacquiao winning via split decision. In their third bout, Pacman escaped with a controversial majority decision win. - AMD, GMA News
