Oct. 26 a regular non-working holiday for Eidul Adha — Palace
Malacañang on Wednesday declared October 26, 2012 to be a regular non-working holiday throughout the country, in celebration of the Islamic holiday Eidul Adha, or the Day of Sacrifice.
At a briefing, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the holiday will be observed in accordance with Republic Act No. 9849, which provides that Eidul Adha be celebrated as a regular holiday annually.
“Eidul Adha is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam,” Lacierda said, reading from Proclamation 488.
