At least 19 people were reported injured after a bus bound for Baguio City crashed while going up Marcos Highway on Thursday.

 

The bus driver claimed he lost control of the vehicle supposedly after the brakes failed, radio dzBB reported Thursday night.

 

Most of the victims were brought to the Baguio General Hospital for treatment, the report said.

 

A separate report on Bombo Radyo shortly after midnight Thursday said six of the passengers were discharged from the hospital.

 

Initial investigation showed the driver decided to crash the bus along the other side of highway instead of risking the bus falling into a ravine.

 

The Bombo Radyo report said the bus' owners had offered assistance for the injured passengers. — ELR, GMA News
