Home in the Philippines for the first time in 12 years, Filipino-American singer-actress Anna Maria Perez de Tagle is set to be the opening act for the Jonas brothers’ two-night concert this weekend. The concerts will be held in Manila and Cebu on October 19 and 20 respectively. In an interview with reporter Lala Roque for GMA Network's “News to Go” program, Anna Maria said the concerts will be something Filipinos can look forward to. “It’s going to be a concert you will never forget. I’m going to be singing original songs, covers and a song that I think the Filipinos will absolutely love,” Anna Maria said. Anna Maria also said she was excited to be home after more than a decade and that she couldn’t wait to perform for her Filipino fans. On her official Twitter account, Anna Maria said: “Had a great dance rehearsal! 3 more days Manila!! Are you ready???? :)” During her recent “Fans Appreciation Day” at a mall in Pasay City, she even sang a Tagalog song. Anna Maria, granddaughter of renowned Kundiman singer Sylvia la Torre, will be staying in the Philippines until November for her auditions with Broadway musical Miss Saigon. Anna Maria has played the role of Ashley Dewitt in Disney’s hit show, “Hannah Montana.” She also starred in the movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in Toronto” with the Jonas Brothers. - VVP, GMA News
