Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO) on October 16 launched the Galaxy Note II —the much-anticipated follow-up to its popular "phablet" phone-tablet hybrid— as well as one of the first Android-powered consumer cameras on the market, the Galaxy Camera.

The two devices were unveiled at a press launch at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.

The Galaxy Note II sports a 5.5" HD Super AMOLED screen with enriched cinema capability, and a longer but more ergonomic S Pen. Among the phone's most notable features is its inbuilt camera's "Best Photo" function, which allows users to edit the individual faces of multiple subjects in a photograph. The phone also sports PC-like multitasking, with the capability to launch and display multiple windows.

The Galaxy Camera, meanwhile, features the latest Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" OS, plus wireless network connectivity for sharing photos. — TJD, GMA News
