With just one week to go before launch, the "Star Wars" themed Angry Birds whetted gamers' appetites anew with a slew of new gameplay trailers.

The trailers were uploaded to video-sharing site YouTube, combining the gameplay of the popular Angry Birds franchise with the characters from the "Star Wars" saga.

A 57-second trailer uploaded to YouTube earlier this week showed Angry Bird "Luke" trying to impress Angry Bird "Leia" with lightsaber moves but flopping.

The trailer then shows both Angry Birds in action against the Empire's piggies in Tatooine, and then in Hoth:

A second trailer shows Angry Bird C3PO and Angry Bird R2D2 launching themselves against the Empire's fighters:

Yet another trailer features Angry Bird "Han Solo" and Angry Bird "Chewbacca" in action as well:

“This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in in a galaxy far, far away,” said Peter Vesterbacka, the Mighty Eagle and CMO of Rovio —and an unabashed Star Wars fan.

Both sides promised the unique partnership will combine all the fun of the classic Angry Birds and Angry Birds Space with the characters and settings of Star Wars.

"From the deserts of Tatooine to the depths of the Death Star – the game and merchandise will feature the Angry Birds characters starring as the iconic heroes of the beloved Saga," Rovio said.

The game will be available on more platforms: Apple's iOS, Google's Android, Amazon's Kindle Fire, Apple's Mac, and Microsoft's Windows, Windows Phone and Windows 8. — TJD, GMA News
