Aboitiz Jebsen inks joint venture with Greek-owned Star Bulk

As part of a fleet expansion, Aboitiz Jebsen Company Inc. (Abojeb) signed a joint venture agreement with Nasdaq-listed Star Bulk Manning LLC of Greece and named the partnership Star Bulk Aboitiz Jebsen Crew Management Company Inc.
 
"It was a very easy connection between Abojeb and Star Bulk," said Abojeb president and general manager Ramon Villordon Jr., the company said in a en-emailed statement.
 
"We met with our Star Bulk partners in Greece.  They appreciated our inputs.  We had a meeting of the minds and then, the Philippine crew management company was born," Villordon added.
 
Athens-based Star Bulk is a global shipping company that deals in dry bulk sea-transport solutions.
 
Aboitiz Jebsen is a joint venture of Aboitiz Group and Norway’s Jebsens Group.  Its principal business revolves on integrated maritime services –ship management and technical solutions, crew management, manpower solutions, training and development, shipping and logistics. — EST/GMA News
