Anthony and David Semerad have issued an apology letter to Reverend Father Rector-President Aloysius Maranan, intended to be shared with the entire San Beda community, regarding their departure and return to the college.

A copy of the letter was obtained by Inboundpass, which reads as follows:

"In the Spirit of Peace and Reconciliation, we are reaching out to you in the hope of putting closure to any unresolved issues that may have inadvertently been misconstrued, and which may have caused some misunderstandings between us in the recent past.

“We are, and will always be, proud Bedans and being back in the fold of our beloved Alma Mater is more that enough reason for us to gladly rejoice, and be even more excited about the future will bring for us and our beloved team.

“We can only pray for humility, compassion and guidance, so that we can now all move on and look forward with a singular vision that will truly live up to San Beda’s illustrious legacy."

The Fil-Aussie brothers controversially left San Beda just months after helping the team notch a second straight title during NCAA Season 87. The pair then transferred to Ateneo de Manila University, where they played a few games for the Team B of that school, before transferring back to San Beda earlier this year.

The two are now expected to suit up for the Red Lions in Season 89.

Anthony Semerad, in Season 87, averaged 6.4 points while shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc, 2.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists. David Semerad on the other hand, normed 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds, and helped the team clinch the Season 87 title with a 15-point outing in game two of the Finals, tops for the Red Lions.

Three players from this season's three-peat squad have used up their eligibility, namely Jake Pascual, Melo Lim, and Anjo Caram. - AMD, GMA News
