The España-based squad struggled to score against the Lady Eagles, with team captain Judy Ann Caballejo leading UST with eight points.

In the first women's match of the day, National University kept University of the East winless with a four-set win, 25-13 22-25 25-14 25-18.

The towering duo of Myla Pablo and Dindin Santiago combined for 39 of NU's 97 points. Pablo tallied six aces, while Maricar Nepomuceno had three blocks.

In the men's division, Ateneo de Manila and University of Santo Tomas posted straight set wins against University of the Philippines and Adamson University.

Ateneo did not take long to dispose of UP, 25-19 25-23 25-16, as Ysrael Wilson Marasigan had 20 points. In the other men's match, UST emerged victorious against a determined Adamson sqad, 25-20 26-24 25-20. Salvador Depante led UST with 17.
