Two Pakistanis sentenced to three years jail for threatening Pinay in UAE
A United Arab Emirates (UAE) court sentenced two Pakistani workers to three years in jail each for threatening a Filipina masseuse and her colleague when they robbed the spa they were working in last August. The Dubai Court of First Instance court found the workers guilty of raiding a massage spa, threatening the masseuses with knives, and stealing cash and mobile phones after midnight, the news site Gulf News reported. The primary judgement remains subject to appeal within 15 days. A Filipina masseuse had said five Pakistani men armed with knives and sharp tools forced their way into the massage center in Al Ghusais at midnight and robbed them (). The prosecutors said the two Pakistanis, aged 20 and 22, pointed two knives in the face of two masseuses and threatened to kill them if they did not yield their money and mobile phones. The five suspects reportedly fled with five mobile phones and Dh1,470 (P16,448) cash. Three other suspects remain at large. On the other hand, the Dubai court cleared two other Pakistanis aged 28 and 23 of charges they were in possession of two of the stolen mobile phones. The two suspected robbers and the two said to be in possession of the stolen phones had entered an innocent plea when they appeared in court. Pinay's testimony The Filipina alleged that the men asked them "to stand still and give them money." One of the suspects reportedly opened the register and took the cash." Then they took us all to the kitchen and asked us to hand over our mobile phones,” she told Gulf News. Her Chinese coworker confirmed her statement. - VVP, GMA News
