Dubai worker gets six months for groping Pinay in public

A United Arab Emirates (UAE) court has sentenced to six months' imprisonment a Bangladeshi who stalked and groped a Filipina secretary in public. The court convicted the worker, 27, of sexually molesting the Filipina, 28, and breaching her modesty in public, the news site Gulf News reported. The judgment is subject to appeal in the next 15 days. It found the worker guilty of stalking the Filipina and lifting up her miniskirt in public and groping her, the report said. According to the Filipina, she had just stepped out of a public bus at Dubai Investment Park when the Bangladeshi went behind her, lifted up her skirt, and groped her private parts. The Bangladeshi, however, denied this saying he was not aware of what happened that day as he was not feeling well. He claimed that the police promised to let him go and drop the case if he confessed. He said he only confessed because of what the police said but he was not guilty. However, the Gulf News report also cited records showing some passersby prevented the Bangladeshi from fleeing after what he did to the Filipina. - VVP, GMA News
