Seven Indian business process outsourcing firms plan to expand their operations in the Philippines, a move that would create as many as 5,000 jobs, a Trade official said. "Most of their expansions are in non-voice sector, like finance, creative services, healthcare and medical services, among others," she said. Healthcare information management outsourcing is in fact one of the fastest-growing sectors in local IT-BPO, expected to have generated $433 million in revenues and employed 43,000 for 2012. Aiming to double its revenues to $25 billion and create 1.3 million jobs by 2016, the IT-BPO industry has pinpointed high-growth areas such as finance and accounting, creative services, health services, human resources, IT outsourcing, engineering and multilingual BPO. — BM, GMA News
