NBA: Phil Jackson proposes to Jeanie Buss

Former Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls head coach Phil Jackson has proposed to long-time girlfriend Jeanie Buss, Executive Vice-President of the Los Angeles Lakers, with Buss tweeting out a picture of the engagement ring.

The 67-year-old Jackson is an 11-time NBA champion head coach, with five of those rings at the helm of the Lakers. The couple have been dating for 12 years, reports TMZ.com, which also wrote that the couple got engagement in Christmas, but that it was only publicly announced with Buss' tweet. 

 

Jackson had been considered to come back on board as Lakers head coach after the team had fired Mike Brown back in November, but the team ultimately decided to go with Mike D'Antoni. 

 

Since then, Jackson has been linked to the Brooklyn Nets, which fired their head coach Avery Johnson in December. - AMD, GMA news
