UAE court affirms Indian's six-month jail term for molesting Pinay

A United Arab Emirates (UAE) court on Thursday affirmed the six-month jail sentence slapped on an Indian technician for groping a Filipina housemaid. The Dubai Appeals Court also ordered the 28-year-old defendant's deportation after his jail term as it rejected his appeal, according to a report of the news site Gulf News. However, the report said the judgment is still subject to appeal before the Cassation Court within 28 days. When the defendant appeared in court, he pleaded not guilty and claimed that he touched the woman only accidentally. Court records showed the defendant was part of a team fixing the air-conditioning system at the home of the Filipina's sponsor. The defendant said he asked her for water because he was thirsty and followed her to the kitchen. “It was the first time that he ever saw me… he said that he loved me and allowed himself to touch my private parts. He groped me when I served him a cup of water,” the housemaid, 21, said in the report. "To my surprise he said ‘I like you’ and suddenly he placed his hand on my top. I scolded him angrily.
