Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) announced on Sunday that it has commissioned two new reservoirs in Caloocan City for households and commercial establishments in the elevated portions of the company's Quirino/Roosevelt business area. Situated on Magdalena and J.P. Ramoy Streets, the reservoirs have a combined storage capacity of 7 million liters and cost P48 million to build. With the additional reservoirs, Maynilad can provide 24-hour water supply at a pressure of at least 16 psi (pounds per square inch) to more than 53,700 residents in the area. “These new reservoirs will allow us to store more water during off-peak hours, and release the stored water at a time when customers need it most,” said Maynilad CEO and president Ricky Vargas. Maynilad is the water concessionaire for the Greater Manila Area's West Zone, which covers parts of Manila, Quezon City and Makati as well as Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon in Metro Manila. It also provides water to the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite. — BM, GMA News
