Malaysia - Unheralded Edward Reyes from the Philippines shot a solid three-under-par 69 and found himself among the early contenders in the PGM CCM Rahman Putra Masters in Selangor late Wednesday. Reyes, who had a brief stint with the national team for golf, was only two strokes back from the 67s of joint leaders R. Nachimuthu of Malysia and Mardan Mamat of Singapore at the Rahman Putra Golf Club. Nachimuthu, the PGM Tour’s number one in 2011, peppered the flags with accurate iron shots and was rewarded with three birdies on the last four holes to share honors with three-time Asian Tour champ Mamat. The Filipino-Briton is playing in his first PGM CCM event, with a total of $65,000 cash pot and the opening salvo of the 2013 season of the Asian Development Tour, the aspirants's league of the Asian Tour. Another shot back on 70 was compatriot James Lam, who got booted out in the AsianTour Qualifying School two weeks ago, for a share of 19th place. Carl Santos-Ocampo was on 52nd spot after a 74.  Mike Bibat had a 76 (80th), Jet Mathay 79 (115th), Miguel Ochoa 80 (123), Glenn de Leon 81 (129th) and Quino Baterno 84 (136th). - AMD, GMA News
