UAAP: La Salle defeats Ateneo in women's football

The De La Salle Lady Booters leaned on Charmaine Guancia's late second half goal to come out on top via a 2-1 victory against rivals Ateneo on Sunday at the Ateneo's Ocampo Football Field.
La Salle got the early advantage, as a Megan Diaz cross to Cristina Viray put La Salle on top, 1-0, in the first minute. The Lady Booters' defense would hold in the first half, with Miel Ampil and the rest of DLSU's defense clearing Ateneo's attempts.
The Katipunan-based squad came out of the halftime break with more aggressiveness, resulting in a goal by Ateneo's Jill Caterdilla. The draw would not last long, though, as La Salle's long balls started to find their forwards. A La Salle attack from the right flank had the Ateneo keeper scrambling on the ground, leaving Guancia space to rattle in the winning goal. - AMD, GMA News
