Juan Manuel Marquez is sticking by his earlier statements when he said that there was "no point" in having a fifth fight between himself and Manny Pacquiao, adding recently, "I don't believe that the fans are interested in seeing another rematch between us." [Related: Marquez may not want to fight Pacquiao again, says 'there is no point'] In an interview with Rene Umanzor of BoxingScene.com, Marquez said that  "the most important thing is that everything concluded in a positive manner for me," referring to his sixth round KO of Pacquiao in their fourth bout last December. Marquez also believes that he doesn't owe Pacquiao an opportunity at a rematch, and that there was no quid-pro-quo between the two boxers. "He [Pacquiao] did not give me the opportunity [for a fourth fight]. I earned the right [to fight him again] because his victories in the other fights were not convincing. He knew that I beat him and logically he did not want to continue the rest of his career with this thorn in his side. "By giving me the opportunity, Manny Pacquiao also gave himself an opportunity to himself - because he wanted a clear victory." The two had previously fought to a draw in their first meeting, followed by decision wins by Pacquiao, including a controversial verdict in 2011. Marquez had previously contemplated retiring, but opted to extend his career by another year, with many presuming it was to get back into the ring with his arch-rival. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum however, thinks that Marquez is merely posturing, and told BoxingScene.com's Rick Reeno that all of the Mexican's talk was "his idea of negotiations." Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, concurred, saying, "What other fight for him is out there? Is he going to fight [Floyd] Mayweather [Jr.] again? Can he beat Mayweather? He got killed by Mayweather. So what's the biggest fight out there? "He'll negotiate when it [the date] gets closer, I'm not worried about that. He really doesn't have anything else. Bradley and all of those other guys out there, he's not going to make the money that he would for Pacquiao." The fifth fight between Pacquiao versus Marquez was originally penciled in for September 2013, with the two taking part in tune-up bouts prior. - Adrian Dy, GMA News
