Apple on Wednesday (Manila time) released a software update for its iOS platform to address issues involving battery life and potential data loss.
The update, iOS 6.1.2, fixes a bug with Microsoft Exchange calendars on the iOS platform for mobile devices, according to a report by tech site The Next Web.
“The Exchange bug had led to many users reporting much shorter battery life and administrators reporting that iDevices were eating up cycles of network capacity. This led to data consumption and power consumption that were far above the norm,” The Next Web said.
It said Apple released the update just about a week after the issue was discovered.
Users of iOS devices can get the iOS update using the Settings and Software Update section on their devices, or by plugging the device into iTunes.
On the other hand, a separate article on tech site CNET said Apple has not said when it will address a security exploit used by jailbreaking solution Evasi0n.
Evasi0n has become the fastest adopted jailbreaking tool ever, CNET reported. — TJD, GMA News
