UAAP: NU claims first men's volleyball title

The National University men's volleyball squad claimed their first UAAP men's volleyball title on Saturday, after defeating defending champions Far Eastern University in Game 3 of their best-of-three series, 26-24 25-22 23-25 25-19, at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan. The Bulldogs, who climbed back from two sets down to defeat FEU in Game 1 of their series last Saturday, 16-25 18-25 25-13 25-17 15-8, lost Game 2 on Wednesday, 25-23 17-25 25-20 25-23. NU ended the eliminations tied with FEU with a 12-2 win-loss card, but the Bulldogs claimed the top seed thanks to having more points, 34-33.   In the semifinals, NU ousted Adamson 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20, while FEU bested La Salle 25-23, 25-21, 25-13. - AMD, GMA News
