The Mind Museum showed it is not just educational but also environmentally friendly as well, by earning a gold-level certification from the Leadership in Environment and Energy Design (LEED).
Mind Museum said it was cited for its environment-friendly features such as water and energy conservation, reduced carbon dioxide emission, improved indoor air quality, and a materials recovery facility.
“Buildings are a prime example of how human systems integrate with natural systems. The Mind Museum efficiently uses our natural resources and makes an immediate, positive impact on our planet, which will tremendously benefit future generations to come,” it quoted U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) president, CEO and founding chairman Rick Fedrizzi.
USGBC established the LEED, which is now an internationally recognized program for the design, construction, and operation of environmentally friendly buildings.
The Mind Museum is the landmark project of Bonifacio Art Foundation Inc. It has welcomed at least 300,000 visitors since it opened in March 2012.

The two-level Mind Museum was also cited for using materials with high recycled content such as steel.
Mind Museum added LEED professionals from Langdon and Seah guided Bonifacio Art Foundation Inc. (BAFI)'s team in meeting “green” requirements while building the Mind Museum.
"The result is a building that speaks of technology and design being responsive to the role of built-up space in environmental stewardship," it said. — TJD, GMA News
