ABL: Banchero leads San Miguel to another win against Singapore
Chris Banchero had 19 points and six assists to lead the San Miguel Beermen past the Singapore Slingers, 68-61, on Sunday in Singapore. It was San Miguel's sixth straight win, allowing them to improve to 9-3, tying last season's champions, the Indonesia Warriors, in the standings. Singapore fell to 4-9. Brian Williams added 11 points along with 11 rebounds, while Leo Avenido chipped in 10 of his own. The Beermen leaned on a strong 24-12 first quarter, before outscoring the Slingers 33-25 in the second and third quarters to enter the payoff period with a 57-37 advantage. The Slingers tried to mount a comeback in the fourth, going on a 24-11 flurry in the end, but it was not enough to eclipse the San Miguel lead. Donald Singleton led Singapore with 17 points and 11 boards, while Phillip Morrison had 14. - RAF, GMA News
