Facebook for iOS allows cover photo updates

Facebook users using iPhones and iPads can now update their cover photos while on the move, thanks to an updated app for iOs.

 

The updated app also includes improvements to the social networking giant's group messaging feature, according to a report on tech site The Next Web.

 

"Ever since Facebook redesigned profile pages, the cover photos have been one of the mainstay things that helped a user make their profile their own," The Next Web said.

 

Cover pages are large photos displayed at the profile pages of Facebook users.

 

Until recently, The Next Web said Facebook users could not update their cover photos via mobile devices. Instead, they had to do so via the desktop PCs.

 

Another new feature involves an improved group chat, where fewer steps are needed to start one.

 

The Next Web said the new Cover Page feature is also expected to exploit Facebook's finding in late 2012 that more of its users logged on to ths site via mobile devices than desktop computers.

 

"(S)o why force them to take a photo and modify their profile page when they get to a laptop or desktop? No longer will that need to happen," The next Web said. — TJD, GMA News
