Former Philippine Team Taekwondo champion turned coach Rodolfo Valenzuela Jr. has produced several gold medalists among his students in the Philippines.

Now based in New York, he continued that winning streak as a teacher and coach of Taekwondo at Central Park in Manhattan.

Just recently, two of his students, bagged gold medals at the 2013 USAT New York State Championships held March 16 at Queens College-Fitzgerald Gym, hosted by the New York State Taekwondo Federation.

Jaron Rothbaum, 8, won a gold in sparring competition, while Jamie Schimmer, 6, received a gold in poomse/forms.

Both Rothbaum and Schimmer are now qualified to compete for the 2013 USAT National Championship scheduled in July in Chicago, Illinois.

Valenzuela said his mission is not only to make his students become winners in sports but also help them excel in everything they do by instilling in them discipline and enthusiasm to be successful in life. - Filipino Reporter
