Facebook users may soon get to post status updates even if they are not on their home pages, if a button the social network is testing moves on to full deployment.

On Good Friday, some Facebook users noticed the button at the upper-right area of the Facebook page's top bar, though it was no longer visible on Saturday (Manila time).

The top bar remains constant regardless of what page a Facebook user is on.

Clicking on it opens a prompt that suggests the user update his or her status.

A separate article on a tech site said the prompt "looks very similar to the one we're used to seeing for posting a Facebook status."

Mashable said the new button was seen on a page "that has yet to be switched to the new Facebook news feed or be given access to Graph Search, its smarter search engine."

"We haven't seen any other pages with the feature just yet," it added.  — ELR, GMA News
