Facebook rolls out weather forecasts to events
Facebook users can now have an easier time planning get-togethers, with a new feature: a weather forecast for the place the event being planned is to be held. The social network's new feature - which drops weather information on the event - was part of a hackathon, according to a report on TechCrunch. "The addition of events is great for the guests, but when you’re setting up an event, you’ll also see the weather prediction for that day, which can help you form your description, suggesting that people bring a sweatshirt, perhaps. If the event is within the next 10 days, you’ll see a 10-day forecast," TechCrunch said. People invited to an event will see the forecast for the area on the date of the event. But for cities and parks that have pages, "you’ll see current conditions," TechCrunch said. The weather data is provided by crowdsourced weather site Weather Underground. — ELR, GMA News
