After almost one year, police investigators claimed to have solved the murder of a Swiss national in the Garden City of Samal, with the arrest of the victim’s wife.

Sun-Star Davao (www.sunstar.com.ph) reported Tuesday that the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Southern Mindanao has arrested and charged Alma Cortina-Ochsenbin.

The CIDG filed parricide charges against Alma for the murder of Karl Ochsenbin in May 2006 in Villarica village in Babak, in the Island Garden City of Samal.

Police based their case on the claim of a witness that Alma hired three gunmen to kill her husband for P500,000.

Another witness identified the gunman who was arrested earlier as one Rolando Hermoso, tagged as the most wanted criminal in the island city.

Hermoso was arrested in Agusan del Sur through a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Clemente Tajon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 34 in Panabo City.

Another suspect, Editha Copas Adante-Sauragal, surrendered and admitted contacting Hermoso and the two others upon the request of Alma.

The CIDG already is withholding the identities of at least two other suspects who remain at large and are the subjects of a manhunt. - GMANews.TV
