Egyptian sentenced to three years in jail for raping two Pinays in UAE
A United Arab Emirates court on Thursday sentenced an Egyptian man to three years in jail for raping two Filipinas at his residence in September last year.
The Dubai Court of First Instance found the Egyptian, 29, guilty of raping the women at knifepoint and threatening to have them gang-raped, Gulf News reported.
The accused will be deported after serving his sentence. The judgment may be appealed within 15 days.
The Egyptian earlier entered a not guilty plea and denied the accusations against him.
Court records showed that the Egyptian met one of the Filipinas, 27, at a social media network and invited her to coffee. The Filipina brought along her 25-year-old fellow Filipina.
However, once at the Egyptian's house at International City, he raped both of them on his bed while threatening them at knife-point that his friends will gang-rape them if they did not give in to him.
One of the victims said they found a chance to escape when the Egyptian went to the bathroom. They dressed up and ran away. - VVP, GMA News
