A Korean firm has built the first 55-inch curved OLED TV that can potentially bring an "IMAX-like" experience to one's living room.
LG's curved OLED TV device, the 55EA9800, has the entire screen surface "equidistant from the viewer's eyes," tech site Mashable noted.
"The TV is 4.3 mm (0.17 inches) thin, weighs 17 kilograms (37.48 pounds), and features LG's WRGB and Color Refiner technologies, which should result in great color and vibrant, natural images," it said.
But people outside South Korea may not be in luck yet - for now, the TV is only available for pre-order in South Korea.
It said the LG 55EA9800 can be preordered in more than 1,400 LG retail stores, for 15 million KRW ($13,500).
Yet, Mashable said that while it could not test the device firsthand, the TV "sure looks good."
LG is to announce the availability and pricing of the TV in other markets "in the months ahead," it added. — TJD, GMA News
