Ford Philippines reports car sales up over 62% in April

New Ranger and Explorer models helped Ford Philippines grow sales by 62.6 percent to 1,101 units in April from 677 a year earlier, the company said Tuesday. “... The recent launch of our... Ranger Wildtrak and upgraded Explorer have really added to our momentum,” managing director Randy Krieger said in an emailed statement. The company said it sold 413 Rangers from 295, noting that sales picked up after Wildtrak version was released last month. The Explorer registered a 69 percent increase in sales to 123 units, the company said. Sales in January to April increased by 81.8 percent to 3,786 from 2,082 in the year earlier first four months. Ford said it is opening five new sales and service outlets by June, expanding its network to 35. Last May 3, Ford appointed a new managing director, Kay Hart, who will take over its Philippine operations on June 1. — VS, GMA News
