Lobo, Batgirl come to Injustice: Gods Among Us

Since its release mid-April, Injustice: Gods Among Us is definitely a must play for fans of the DC Universe. Developed by Warner Bros. Games and Mortal Kombat creators NetherRealm Studios, the game has been making waves and taking the fighting game community by storm, giving rise to a fanbase that is expecting a lot from this brawler. That being said, the developers wasted no time announcing that downloadable content would be coming in the near future, and it would take shape in the form of new alternate skins for existing heroes and villains, as well as four new playable characters for the game itself.

 

First announced some weeks ago, the very first DLC character coming to the game will be the “Main Man” himself, Lobo. To highlight him in Action, WB Games and NetherReal Studios released a gameplay video during this year’s C2E2 event, featuring the alien mercenary in action and fighting against Batman. However, the developers also added fun to the mix by showcasing a new alternate skin for The Dark Knight in this video as well. Comic book fans will easily recognize this version of the hero, and it’s none other than Thomas Wayne – Father of Bruce and The Batman of the Flash themed alternate reality story “Flashpoint”.

 

 

Following those announcements, the official Injustice Facebook Page has also revealed more skins for other fan-favorite characters this week, namely Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Deathstroke and Harley Quinn. The Amazon Princess will sport her pre-New 52 “new look” from Wonder Woman #600, with a brand new costume that sees the heroine wearing a leather jacket and pants! And to appease fans who have been itching to use their classic looks, Deathstroke and Cyborg get their classic Teen Titans looks, while the lovely Harley Quinn goes retro and back to her original jester outfit first seen in Batman: The Animated Series!

 

The surprise doesn’t stop there! With the new skins announced, the Injustice Facebook Page also revealed the second DLC character for the game… And it’s none other than the female caped crusader herself, Batgirl! A gameplay video will be released soon following her debut, so stay tuned for more updates!

 

Injustice: Gods Among Us is currently available for PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. — TJD, GMA News
