Azkals drop one spot in FIFA rankings
After reaching anew its highest FIFA World ranking last month at 143, the Philippine men's national football team took a step back to 144, in the international football governing body's update for the month of May.

The Philippines was forced to share the 144th rank as well, with Kazakhstan, who did not move after earning that berth last month. Despite that, the Philippines is still the 24th ranked team in Asia.
The country's drop in ranking is likely due to the team's inactivity. The last game the Azkals played was against Turkmenistan in March, during the AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers, with no friendlies scheduled until June, when the squad will begin its preparations for Challenge Cup proper in Maldives.
