President Benigno Aquino III arrived in his home province of Tarlac past 9 a.m. Monday to cast his vote for senators, party-list group, and local officials.

Aquino arrived at the Central Azucarera de Tarlac Elementary School in Tarlac City, government-run People's Television reported.

A separate report by dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. said Aquino arrived at 9:25 a.m. with sisters Pinky and Ballsy. He was 10th in the queue.

But the dzBB report also said he had to wait in line as the Precinct Count Optical Scan machine in the precinct had problems.

In 2010, Aquino also had to wait for hours for the PCOS machine to be fixed before he could vote.

Malacañang on Sunday had said Aquino may cast his vote in Tarlac within the day, then monitor reports from the field on the conduct of the elections.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said it has gone on blue alert since Sunday to monitor incidents and ensure prompt coordination.
