Memphis Grizzly Tony Allen, and 2012-13 MVP LeBron James of the Miami Heat, top the NBA's All-Defensive First Team, the league announced Monday (Tuesday, PHL time) in an official press release.

To determine who makes the All-Defensive team, the 30 NBA head coaches are allowed to give a first-place vote worth two points and a second-place vote worth one points. They are not allowed however to vote for their own players.

The swingman Allen led the voting with 25 first-place votes and three second-place votes for a high of 53 points. James came in second with 25 first-place votes and two second-place votes, good for 52 points.

Joining them in the All-Defensive First Team are forward Serge Ibaka of the Oklahoma City Thunder (17 first-place votes, 12 second-place votes, 46 points), point guard Chris Paul of the LA Clippers (15 first-place votes, seven third-place votes, 37 points) and two centers due to a tie, New York Knick Tyson Chandler and Chicago Bull Joakim Noah, both of whom totaled 24 points.

The All-Defensive Second Team is led by Paul George of the Indiana Pacers (27 points), Avery Bradley of the Boston Celtics (25 points), Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs (20 points), Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies (19 points), and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol (12 points).

Notable players who did not make an All-Defensive team include Denver Nuggets Andre Iguodala and Kenneth Faried, Milwaukee Buck Larry Sanders, LA Laker Dwight Howard, Miami Heat's Shane Battier, and Indiana Pacer Roy Hibbert. - AMD, GMA News
