Aboitiz subsidiary to hold poultry and livestock expo this May

Aboitiz Equity Venture’s food group, Pilmico, will hold its Poultry and Livestock Expo this coming May 23 to 24, 2013 at the LRO Compound at the Pangasinan Provincial Capitol in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

 

The event is in cooperation with the Pangasinan Provincial Government and the Department of Agriculture. Participants to the Expo will be able to attend free seminars and watch live demos on the latest in hograising, goatraising, and gamefowl breeding practices and technology.

 

The Pilmico Poultry and Livestock Expo is aimed at educating guests and participants on proper backyard livestock raising using Pilmico’s four-pillar Diamond Program: 1) Breeding and Genetics, 2) Sound Management, 3) Complete Healthcare and 4) Excellent Nutrition.  Partner exhibitors and facilitatora that will complement Pilmico in this endeavor are Bayer, Novartis, Boehringer Ingelheim, Merial Philippines, Pfizer, Elanco, PIC and Virbac.

Notable activities at the Expo are the Pig Show and Chicken Show. Prior to the event, Pilmico provided selected backyard raisers and their families with piglets and chicks for them to grow. In time for the culminating activity, these animals will have grown into full sized market hogs and broilers and they will be paraded and auctioned off to guests at the expo.

Another highlight of the expo is the Aerial Sabong (Aerial Cockfighting Tourney) at the LRO’s beachfront. A kite-flying show featuring giant six-meter kites, this is an activity that kids and adults alike will surely enjoy watching. Smaller kites will also be available afterwards for guests to carry out their own aerial shows.
