The Commission on Elections on Saturday evening invited senatorial candidates Cynthia Villar, Jose Victor Ejercito and Gregorio Honasan for their proclamation as winners in the senatorial race, completing the 2013 midterm polls'  "Magic 12."

A report on "24 Oras" said the three are to be proclaimed at the Philippine International Convention Center at 7:30 p.m.

Initially, the Comelec invited only Villar and Ejercito as Honasan battled with former Sen. Richard Gordon for the 12th spot, radio dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo reported.

Villar and Ejercito ranked 10th and 11th, while Honasan and Gordon ranked 12th and 13th in the senatorial race as of 4 p.m. Saturday.

Figures from the National Board of Canvassers' tally as of 4 p.m., based on 128 certificates of canvass, indicated Honasan was leading Gordon by 695,008 votes.

Honasan had 13,019,299 votes while Gordon had 12,324,291 votes as of 4 p.m.

Villar had 13,625,351 votes while Ejercito had 13,476,446 votes.

In a separate interview aired on “24 Oras,” Villar and Ejercito thanked their supporters.

Asked on her priorities upon assuming her post, she said: “Siyempre, ire-refine ko yung mga [bill] na inhain ni Senator [Manny] Villar na hindi napasa like… tinitingnan ko yung amendment sa AFMA (Agriculture and fisheries Modernization Act), sa Investment Incentive Act para sa micro, small, and medium enterprises.”

Although happy, Ejercito said he is also sad over the fate of other United Nationalist Alliance members who did not make it to the "Magic 12."

“Siyempre masaya, sino ba naman ang mag-aakala kahit man hindi natin pinangarap na maging senador, kumbaga isang pribilehiyo ito… Nalulungkot din ako para sa iba nating kasama na hindi pinalad,” he said, adding that he will prioritize youth concerns in the Senate.

Apart from the three winning senatorial candidates who will be proclaimed Saturday night, other winning bets who failed to show up during their proclamation – Senators-elect Nancy Binay and incumbent Senator Koko Pimentel – will also attend the event, the report said.

Earlier, the Comelec declared the first six senatorial bets as winners.
