The Swiss Embassy in Manila was temporarily closed Thursday following a fire that hit a Makati City building where its offices are located.
In an announcement on its website Thursday evening, the embassy apologized for any inconvenience and asked the public for understanding.
"Following a cable fire, the premises of the Embassy in Manila are not accessible. The Embassy is therefore closed until further notice," it said.
"We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding," it added.
Earlier Thursday, a fire hit the building along Paseo de Roxas Street in Makati City. A report on dzBB radio said the fire reached only the first alarm.
The embassy's consular districts had included the Philippines, Palau, Micronesia and Marshall Islands.
Its helpline in Switzerland is +41(0)800-24-7-365.
It was not immediately clear if the embassy's emergency number at +63917-5285460 would be accessible. — ELR, GMA News
