Users of Android mobile devices can now have an easier time translating web pages, after Google integrated its translation bar into its latest Chrome browser for the platform.

The latest Chrome Beta for Android now features the built-in translation bar similar to the one on Chrome for desktop and laptop computers.

"When you come across a page written in a language that isn't in the same language as your phone or tablet, look for the translation bar. To translate the page, touch the 'Translate' button," software engineer Miguel Garcia said in a blog post.

The new Chrome beta also features a “+” in the toolbar on phones to make creating tabs even easier.

Garcia also said Google is adding full-screen support for tablets, after doing the same thing on phones.

"As you scroll, the top toolbar disappears so you can immerse yourself in the web page content," he said.

Meanwhile, Garcia said the new Chrome has a graph for those trying out Google's experimental data compression feature. The graph shows estimated bandwidth savings.

A separate article on CNET said Chrome 28 Beta landed in the Google Play Store on Thursday.

"Google Translate works through statistical machine translation. We have 71 languages now, and while there will always be varying levels of accuracy, if you have a good translation, it's better than no translation," it quoted Google spokeswoman Roya Soleimani as saying. — TJD, GMA News
