A Filipino tourist faced a Malaysian court on Monday over charges that he and two companions robbed a tourist from Iraq of RM7,500 (P102,820) last month.
Marcelo Ortega, 47, pleaded not guilty to the charge as he faced the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur, according to a report on Malaysia's New Straits Times.
Ortega was accused of robbing Iraqi Hussein Rashid at overhead bridge near Berjaya Times Square in Jalan Imbi last May 25. Ortega's two companions remain at large.
The judge set bail at RM12,000 (P164,513) with two sureties and ordered Ortega to report to the Ampang police station at the beginning of every month. - VVP, GMA News
