PHL women's volleyball team prepare for Myanmar after falling to hosts Vietnam
The Philippine Women's Volleyball team is preparing for a 7pm clash against Myanmar on Saturday, after dropping their opening game against hosts Vietnam in the 2014 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship Southeastern zone qualifiers.
The Bomberinas lost in straight sets to Vietnam on Friday, 25-9 25-11 25-18.
Alyssa Valdez led the Philippines with nine points, while Santiago sisters Jaja and Dindin chipped in six and five, respectively.
The Philippines' final match with be on Sunday against Indonesia.
Sixteen countries in the region are vying for four spots in the World Championship to be held in Italy. Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Australia and New Zealand are awaiting the top teams that will emerge from the zonal qualifications.
India and Uzbekistan are competing in the Central Zone, while Hong Kong, DPR Korea and Chinese Taipei battle in the Eastern Zone. - GMA News
