Petsa at tema ng 51st int’l Eucharistic Congress sa Cebu, aprubado na ng Santo Papa

Kinumpirma ng Cebu Archdiocese na inaprubahan na ni Pope Francis ang petsa  at tema ng 51st International Eucharistic Congress na gaganapin sa Cebu City sa 2016.

Sa ulat ni Mao dela Cruz ng dzBB, sinabi umano ni Cebu Archdiocese spokesman Msgr. Achiles Dakay na gaganapin ang Eucharistic congress mula Enero 25 hanggang Enero 31 at may tema itong: “Christ in you, our hope of glory,” na hinalaw mula sa Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians.

Ayon kay Dakay, bagaman inaprubahan na ng Santo Papa ang petsa at tema ng Eucharistic congress, kinakailangan pa rin umanong i-confirm at reconfirm kung matutuloy ang Papa sa pagpunta sa Pilipinas dahil sa mga biglaang pagbabago sa schedule nito.

Ayon naman sa Pontifical Commission for the International Eucharistic Congress, inabisuhan na sila ni Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican secretary of state, ukol sa desisyon ng Santo Papa.

Nauna rito, si Pope emeritus Benedict XVI ang nagpahayag na ang Pilipinas ang susunod na pagdarausan ng Eucharistic congress, batay sa isang video message mula sa Dublin, Ireland, noong Hunyo ng nakalipas na taon.

“I would like you to join me in praying for God’s blessing upon the next International Eucharistic Congress, which will take place in 2016 in the city of Cebu,” pahayag ng dating Papa sa kanyang video message.

“To the people of the Philippines I send warm greetings and an assurance of my closeness in prayer during the period of preparation for this great ecclesial gathering. I am confident that it will bring lasting spiritual renewal not only to them but to all the participants from across the globe,” dagdag pa niya. — RC /LBG, GMA News
