Photos of what appears to be Taiwan-based HTC's upcoming "One Max" phablet have been leaked online, a tech site reported Monday.

A report on CNET said the photos on an page showed a white HTC-branded device with a screen measuring 5.9 inches.

"The device, which is expected to run Android 4.3, includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 3300mAh battery, according to the post," CNET reported.

It added the One Max, presently codenamed T6, is expected to sport a 5.9-inch and a full 1080p screen.

CNET said the online post came less than a month after rumors started that HTC was building a phablet to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note series.

The present HTC One uses the Snapdragon 600 while the HTC One Max is expected to have a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, though with the same UltraPixel and 2.1-megapixel front-facing cameras as the One.

CNET also cited a post on German mobile site Mobile Geeks indicating HTC may release the One Max in a month. — VC, GMA News
