PNoy still in Zamboanga as crisis enters 8th day

President Benigno Aquino III remained in Zamboanga City Monday as the standoff between government and Moro National Liberation Front entered its eighth day Monday.
There was no indication from officials in Zamboanga City on how long Aquino, who arrived there last Friday, will return to Manila, radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. reported.
Aquino went to Zamboanga City last Friday to see for himself the effect of the fighting on residents forced to flee their homes.
He had reassured the residents last weekend the government is doing all it can to resolve the crisis.
Fires and firefights in some villages in the city started off the second week of the crisis early Monday.
Classes and work in non-frontline services remained suspended on Monday. —KG, GMA News
